The initial challenge was to provide a small team of skilled, security cleared IT Network engineers to support a sensitive data collection and meteorological forecasting programme. Over the 20+ years the programme has grown, and we have continued to provide skilled resources in a timely manner, meeting and exceeding the expanding project requirements.
We now provide an all-encompassing managed service with many of our team embedded at our client’s premises and co-located with their team. We manage the staff and the service and take responsibility for critical elements such as 24×7 call out. Operationally we provide configuration control, change requests, installations, system updates, patching, fault analysis and network design services. We ensure that our team has the appropriate qualifications and certifications – we always look to define any skill gaps and then provide training to mitigate these. The setting is very security sensitive, so we vet our team and sponsor their security clearance as well as provide regular training. Prior to installing new equipment, we undertake detailed method statements and risk assessments, producing drawings and ensuring designs are approved before commencement. We also support with the overall Health and Safety of the service and the wider team. This includes Covid-19, fire and electrical risks and DSE (Display screen equipment).
We are constantly striving to improve our service and take on board any lessons learnt. We aim to achieve our KPIs and support our key client in achieving their KPIs to the MoD. We have been successful in these endeavours over the years and are always looking for ways to bring in new innovate services to benefit our client.
Our partnership with this Data Management / Network programme has been in place for over twenty years. Our current contract with them is still running with ongoing work.
